We offer yoga classes for all levels of students, and love to support new people in developing a yoga and meditation practice that helps you feel healthy, creative and empowered in your whole life.  You don’t need to be flexible, strong or in shape to get started. Everyone at Be Luminous Yoga wants to support your journey to health starting right where you are. 

What Is Be Luminous Yoga?

At Be Luminous Yoga, our mission is to inspire you to live an empowered, creative, vibrant life through the practices of yoga and meditation.  Located in the South Lake Union, in Downtown Seattle, Be Luminous Yoga provides hot power flow yoga, and unheated slow flow yoga for a well-rounded experience.

What is yoga?

Yoga is primarily a physical practice of postures, linked with your breath and awareness.  By bringing these three elements together, you override the fight/flight mechanism in your brain that creates stress, you feel more vital, and you gain real physical strength and flexibility. 

While the term yoga comes from the ancient Sanskrit, meaning to unite, today yoga is globally recognized as a form of exercise that provides unique benefits in the realm of mental and physical well-being. Yoga can be as simple as a set of postures you practice while breathing and paying attention in a particular way.  This creates the benefits of physical fitness and stress relief.  For those wanting to dive deeper, yoga can also be an expansive set of teachings about how to live a life of purpose, joy and integrity. 

At Be Luminous Yoga, we offer a consistent set of Power Flow Vinyasa classes, with Slow Flow classes and family oriented offerings (Pre-Natal, Childcare) to round out your experience.  Don’t be afraid of words like “power vinyasa.”  It just means you’ll work hard and move from posture to posture with a bit of flow, getting your heart rate up and invigorating your body and mind. 

Getting Started at Be Luminous Yoga

  • Try our New Student Special – 30 days for $40!
  • Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first class to sign a waiver and get settled
  • Bring your own mat or rent one for $2
  • Bring a towel or rent one for $3
  • Bring a water bottle!

What classes are best for me?

Slow Flow:  Our slow flow yoga classes are unheated, the room temperature is 70-75 degrees, and they offer a slower-paced, intelligent practice.  You will work hard as you hold poses and learn key elements of safety and alignment.  You’ll leave relaxed and renewed after deep breathing and long, restorative poses.

Level 1 Power Flow Classes:  Feeling ready to take on a challenge?  Drop in to any Level 1 Power Flow class.  Let us know you are new, bring your sense of humor, take care of yourself and rest as often as you need.  More than anything, be sure to have fun. It takes about 10 classes and then click, you got it!  The room is heated to 90 degrees.

How to Find Us

We are located at the 2200 Building on Denny and Westlake in South Lake Union, Seattle. Our address is 900 Lenora #128. Our parking garage can be accessed off of 9th Ave, and you can reach us on foot by coming up the stairs from Westlake Ave, or through the Plaza driveway off of Lenora Ave.
