Chaturanga Dandasana workshop
The "chaturanga" is a pose we take more than a few times in every single class. It helps us build the arm/shoulder strength necessary for most arm balances, while working as a big link in the vinyasa practice. It also works the entire body and builds core strength needed for most poses. While we do this pose often, we barely spend any time holding it. This means we rarely work on good alignment practice in the pose. We might not see immediate effects of any bad alignment which might creep into the pose, but it will likely effect the practice and the body in the long term.
This workshop will go over the alignment in the pose. This will be helpful if you've rarely spent time working on the pose. This will also help in clearing away any detrimental habits which might have crept into your practice. We will go over the modifications for the pose which you can use to build strength towards taking the complete pose. This will be really helpful if you relatively new to the practice. This will also help the experienced yogis if they are dealing with injuries or are having an "off day".
If you've been intrigued by the float/jump back into the pose from standing, this is your chance to work on it as we break down the process step by step.
